Just the facts…
So overall this is one of the best value espresso machines you can buy. If you want ultimate luxury, then you will have to pay a lot more than what the Delonghi EC155 costs. But for $140 bucks on retail, this is a steal of a bargain.
Some people will be mistakenly put off by it being pump driven rather than a steam machine. As it seems, most affordable espresso machines use the steam driven process. However, the more expensive models use a pump driven mechanism. Even the thousand dollar ones that are put in coffee shops. So it is not a downgrade whatsoever.
If you like a creamy top to your beverages, this machine has one of the best frothers I've ever run across. Even including the expensive espresso machines, this frother comes to compete.
An important note for most consumers is that it requires very little maintenance. The water reservoir is 32 ounces, which will last a really long time.
Another bonus is that this machine is E.S.E certified. Which means that Easy Espresso has certified the Delonghi EC155 to be compatible with ESE espresso pods for added convenience. Some consumers will want to use this feature, other could care less. But it is nice to have if you're in a rush.
The fast heat up time means that it really takes very little time to make your espresso in the morning. The average time to heat is about a minute long. So you don't have to waste time waiting for the machine to be ready. It's ready to go within a minute.
The only downside I've seen mentioned is that this machine is not as big as some would've expected. Some people complain that there is not enough space at the base of the machine. I personally haven't found this to be a problem at all. But thought I'd mention it just in case.
But the part that makes this a steal is the price point and self cleaning technology. The Delonghi EC155 is capable of cleaning itself through a filtering process, which means that you do not have to wash and rinse the machine all the time. The machine will run efficiently for months without needing any maintenance whatsoever. Which is incredibly rare for an espresso machine.
